Job description

  • Fabricates components by analysing requirements; welding parts
  • Develops welding projects by analysing work orders, prints and completed assembly;
    calculating requirements, studying metals, determining appropriate welding techniques
  • Collects equipment and materials by studying specifications and component requirements;
    order supplies and gases
  • Verifies welding results by inspecting and testing welds
  • Documents actions by completing records
  • Maintains a safe work environment by following procedures; complying with legal regulations
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns;
    maintaining suppliers; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs as necessary
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Complys with all Company and Health & Safety procedures

Skills/Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience of welding in a similar heavy manufacturing environment
  • Coded welder or similar, preferable but not essential.
  • NVQ level education or similar, preferable but not essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Problem solving ability
  • Team player as well as ability to work independently
  • Good communications skills

The Role - overview

The Parts Sales Assistant / Customer Service Advisor will be responsible for assisting the Parts Manager in developing Bomford Turner Machinery Parts Business at the same time as delivering the highest possible standards of customer service and supporting daily administration tasks within a busy office environment. The Parts Sales Assistant will actively support the Bomford Turner Dealer network representing the Bomford Turner brand; and always maintaining effective working relationships with them. This role is perfect for an ambitious and outgoing person, looking to develop their sales and customer skills within a market leading agricultural and municipal machinery brand.

Responsibilities

  • To confidently communicate with customers over the telephone and face to face where required, building rapport and qualifying the customer's requirements.

  • Responsible for processing all customer orders; expediting and delivery of Parts to completion.To gain a good understanding of the Bomford Turner product range helping to identify the

  • customer’s needs and the products available to them.

  • To encourage the sale of genuine parts and accessories whenever possible, acting on opportunities to sell additional products and services.

  • To contribute towards and encourage the uptake of current marketing promotions.

  • To assist in the review, monitoring and maintenance of agreed stock/accessory levels.

  • To order parts on behalf of the Service team, including special orders with overseas suppliers.

  • To complete all relevant administration promptly and accurately record work order information

  • and inventory transactions (including customer records and invoicing).

  • To always comply with company policies, procedures and instructions.

  • To contribute to improving the business and enhancing the company by making new suggestions and implementing change when requested to do so.

Key requirements

  • Good level of Education particularly English and Maths
  • Good understanding of computer systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, friendly and helpful disposition
  • Experience of working directly with customers
  • Resilient with a willingness to learn new skills
  • Experience of, or an interest in, agricultural or municipal machinery is advantageous but not essential
